I have been taking pictures with an SLR since
I was about 14. My sister and I both had Pentax
SLRs and took them all over Europe. My Dad
even put a darkroom in our house. I'm not sure why
but for alot of years I did nothing with a
camera and then when I got back into it I just
had a nice point and shoot. That all changed
when I had my son, who of course will have a place on this
site. I knew I had to capture moments for
later and I was launched into the world of DSLR. The result
is lots of money, lots of time and this site.
I have a
FLICKR
site, as does half of the planet, so the question is why did I create another
web site. I kept finding that I struggled displaying the photos taken to capture a situation and
those taken to generate interesting pictures.
Therefore this site will be used to display what I think are some
of my more interesting pictures.

me know. I am always lusting after new glass
but here is my current lineup.

Marla and Adam's Wedding
I was asked to shoot a wedding for some friends of ours. It was really fun but nerve-racking for
me since I really did not want to ruin the photos for their big day. I think the results turned
out nicely and they were extremely happy with them.

Compassion Day - Harvest Bible Chapel (10/12/2008)
My church had "Compassion Day" and I volenteered to try to capture it. I am quite new to event photography
so I was a little apprehensive. It was challenging because the two rooms I primarily needed to shoot
in were poorly lit and required me to shoot with my 50mm 1.8 wide open all day. This limited the locations
I could shoot from and made it easier to miss shots with the super shallow depth of field. The "carnival"
room also had terrible light and a very high celing so I could not shoot using flash. I am happy with the
photos based on the tough situation.

Harvest Bible Chapel - Saturday Night Service (11/08/2008)
I was asked by the church to take some pictures of the display that they put up called "Pass the Joy". It is a program
to help those less fortunate by allowing people to grab a name off the tree and provide a gift for the holidays.
I decided that I would also photograph the worship which starts each service.
